Whew! This is a very awkward topic to write on, yeah, I know, Just the mere thought of it makes me wanna' puke. Eeww!

And that was how this really cute guy came to make inquires at my desk one day. He was CUTE, well read, nicely dressed and all. #MakeINorLieITrip

The Shocker! I decided to look closely and bask in the euphoria of his handsomeness. OMG I was disappointed and irritated when I saw a mass of plaque on his teeth. And like magic every iota of liking died! But whyyyy!!! #crying

Finding dense layers of dental plaque was something I thought was common with the Local' cum Illiterate folks. Maybe they don't know about plaques and that it's not a part of the teeth #IDunno. But when I see same amongst learned peeps? Too bad, it is so so unacceptable.
I mean, you should have heard of the word FLOSS at one time or the other in your schooling life na.Or which kine' school you go? #JustSaying

Bitter Truth: Your breath can never be FRESH! with those 'things' on your teeth. NEVER!! Its simply IMPOSSIBLE. And it also makes the mere sight of you very irritating #Can'tWatch

Ugly Truth! Some of this folks have Spouses/Boyfriends/Girlfriends.
Wait a minute, they KISS! Or don't they? Eewwww! Women they try oo and I'm saying this because, you find dental plaque more with guys than girls #YeaLadiesAreCleanerObviously

NB: #StraightFace If you have alot of it on your teeth, dont decieve yourself abeg, just know say YOUR MOUTH DEY SMELL. #MomentOfTruth
You better run to the nearest dentist before your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend dies of MOUTH ODOUR. #Buahahaha

Normally before I write about anything, I would do a little research so I get my facts clear, but unlike the norm, this research wasn't FUN at all. Just magine the number of times I had to look at pictures of the different types and degrees of dental plaques. Awful experience I must say. Well i was kind enough to put some up so you too can share in the 'fun' #hehehe

Plaque is the sticky, colorless film of bacteria that forms on teeth. It makes teeth "feel fuzzy" to the tongue and is most noticeable when teeth are not brushed.

What Causes Plaque and Why Is It Harmful?
Plaque develops when foods containing carbohydrates (sugars and starches), such as milk, soft drinks, raisins, cakes, or candy are frequently left on the teeth. Bacteria that live in the mouth thrive on these foods, producing acids as a result. Over a period of time, these acids destroy tooth enamel, resulting in tooth decay. Plaque can also develop on the tooth roots under the gum and cause breakdown of the bone supporting the tooth.

How Can Plaque Formation Be Prevented?
To prevent plaque buildup, brush your teeth at least twice a day with a soft, rounded-tip bristled toothbrush. Pay particular attention to the space where the gums and teeth meet. Use a fluoride-containing toothpaste.
Floss between teeth at least once a day to remove food particles and bacteria.
See your dentist or oral hygienist every 6 months for a check-up and teeth cleaning.
Ask your dentist if a dental sealant is appropriate for you. Dental sealants are a thin, plastic coating that are painted on the chewing surfaces of teeth to protect them from cavities and decay.
Eat a balanced diet and limit the number of between-meal snacks. If you need a snack, choose nutritious foods such as plain yogurt, cheese, fruit, or raw vegetables. Vegetables, such as celery, help remove food and help saliva neutralize plaque-causing acid. Use of an antibacterial mouth rinse can reduce bacteria that cause plaque and gum disease, according to the American Dental Association.

  3. Pee just decided to spoil our fun this morning with some 'ewwwy' pictures of teeth, a group of which could have been hers, you know? #JustSayingO now, why would a 21st century youth not know to brush and bathe at least twice daily and also eat with sense? Such a person needs psychological check-up, seriously. Thumbs up, Pee; you're the best ever--how come I never knew it all the while?
