I published a post on this before but I
just had do another.
The lack of concern and ignorance about
dental health is alarming in our country Nigeria. You find Professors and
Doctors with awful looking/smelling mouth (teeth), parading their academic achievements,
pulling up their “agbada”, and 'feeling on top of their games' with zero KNOWLEDGE
about their dental health? Quite an irony if you ask me.
Professionals are not left out either,
Lawyers, bankers, pilots, Engineers, diplomats, e.t.c and even doctors. If the literate sect ‘don’t
give a jack’ about their teeth, I wonder what the illiterates would do.
We are very good at making jokes out of
everything here in Nigeria but mehn! Bad breath is some real Sh**
If your breath is permanently bad, then you
should run to the nearest dental clinic o, and stop laughing at “smelling mouth
jokes’ because you are foolishly laughing at yourself.
Permit me to be a little bit more practical:
1. Below is a photo of how healthy teeth looks
like;
As you can see, no attachments whatsoever.
Mind you, your teeth doesn’t have to be impeccably WHITE before it’s healthy, I mean, na Naija we dey na, we must use red oil cook.

2. Those milky, brownish or dark
deposits you see on your teeth are not a part of your teeth. They are called DENTAL PLAQUES (a sticky film that coats teeth and contains bacteria) Don’t be deceived.
They are accumulated food remains that have been acted on by micro organisms. They
smell very badly too. So watch out as they are not a part of your teeth and
should be taken out.
3. It is important to note that, the regular every morning BRUSHING we do is not enough to keep our teeth healthy. We need to FLOSS, SCALE and POLISH our teeth from time to time.
Parents/Wives/husbands/brothers/sisters/friends/girlfriends/boyfriends
please help educate the persons around your sphere of influence. Tell that
person that their breath is bad…(Talk am, no fear hehehe) as you will be helping
them on the long run. (Do it politely sha LOL)
Please let’s take good care of our mouth,
brush regularly and floss.
NB: REMEMBER TO VISIT A DENTIST SOON!
