A Little Taste of the 'Other Side'

I found myself on the 'other side'.

The rather horrific story of how I managed to cross 'the mystery oshodi Express way', that had like ten lanes ain't something I want to tell.

Dang! That road is scary. The incessant instreaming of vehicles of all brands and sorts, I mean words like;  Battered, Scattered, Dilapidated, Dejected, Abandoned, Dead would be too subtle to describe the state some of these cars/ buses were.. The occasional 'clean' cars you see couldn't quite account for much... Ok lemme' stop there.

I had just finished from an assignment at Ilupeju, (an area that's lies North-west of the mystery Express ) which by the way went very well #smiles.

I didn't have to bother about 'Geography' because I took a private  cab that dropped me at the venue where I had the appointment.

I decided against that for my return trip for reasons best known to me (TongueOut); this decision I regretted later, well, for the most part initially.

Amidst all the stress, hot sun, dust from incoming car, noise from heavy duty vehicles, me having to ask a million times over, which way to the right bus stop, this ordeal was quite an EXPERIENCE.

Then was the BUS drama... lots of haggard looking people oozing POVERTY, spiting out MEDIOCRITY and they seemed rather comfortable in it. With every word spoken SCREAMING Illiteracy, the air was saturated with LACK.  Impoverish old men and women struggling to get into busses, the young ones looking all sweaty from exhaustion...

When you find yourself on the OTHER SIDE of life, you appreciate where you are coming from better. You snap into your THANKFUL MODE effortlessly, you realize how privileged you are to be where you are.

At times we need to experience the STORM to value PEACE better, to experience WEAKNESS to value STRENGTH, SICKNESS to value HEALTH, TEARS to value LAUGHTER, to LOSE to value WINNING, to THIRST to value WATER, to LACK to value ABUNDANCE....

A little TASTE of the 'other side' is the nudge we need at times to keep us in check, to bring us to our knees, to remind us of the SO MUCH we have, to get us to truly lift up our hands in praise, for us to know we have a lot to be grateful for...And also to KEEP PUSHING, NON STOPPING, MAKING PROGRESS all the way.

  1. If I say 'Nice write up', I'm right. If I say 'Silly write up', I'm also right. All in all, there are rich men today who were once at that same 'other side' at a point. I'll advice u don't see disdain in that experience afterall u don't knw how they r feeling at dat point(they could actually be happier dan you). #EnoughSaid
